✨ A Magical Moment in the Heart of Kuttanad ✨

For the past four years, the five of us at Vegaboat have been blessed to guide countless eminent guests through the serene beauty of Kuttanad and the Vembanad Lake 🌿🚤

What we share during these journeys isn’t just the scenic charm — it’s the soul of Kuttanad itself. This land, lying below sea level, is a marvel shaped by the strength and spirit of its people. What was once part of the vast Vembanad backwaters now stands as a symbol of prosperity, adorned with fields of golden paddy 🌾

Many guests often ask — “Who led the creation of such a wonder?”
And with pride, we say — 👉 Joseph Murickan, the visionary who made it possible.

But today’s voyage held a beautiful surprise! One of our guests said softly —
“I’m the granddaughter of Joseph Murickan’s eldest son.”
That was Mrs. Ruby Thomas ❤️ — and for us, it felt as though history itself had come alive before our eyes.

Our heartfelt gratitude to Retd. Professor Mr. Thomas Varkey, who made this unforgettable meeting possible 🙏

✨ കുട്ടനാടിന്റെ മായാജാലത്തിൽ ഒരു അത്ഭുത നിമിഷം ✨

വേഗാബോട്ടിലെ ഞങ്ങൾ അഞ്ചുപേരും കഴിഞ്ഞ നാല് വർഷങ്ങളായി അനേകം പ്രഗല്ഭരും പ്രശസ്തരുമായ അതിഥികൾക്ക് കുട്ടനാടിന്റെയും വേമ്പനാട് കായലിന്റെയും പ്രകൃതി സൗന്ദര്യം പരിചയപ്പെടുത്താനുള്ള ഭാഗ്യം ലഭിച്ചവരാണ് 🌿🚤

കായലിൽ സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്നപ്പോൾ ഞങ്ങൾ പങ്കുവെയ്ക്കാറുള്ളത് വെറും കാഴ്ചകളല്ല — കുട്ടനാടിന്റെ ആത്മാവാണ്.
മനുഷ്യൻ മനക്കരുത്തിലൂടെയും മെയ്‌ കരുത്തിലൂടെയും സമുദ്രനിരപ്പിന് താഴെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചെടുത്ത അത്ഭുതഭൂമിയാണ് ഈ കാർഷികനാട്. ഒരിക്കൽ വേമ്പനാട് കായലായിരുന്ന ഈ പാടങ്ങൾ ഇന്ന് സ്വർണകതിരുകളാൽ നിറഞ്ഞു നിൽക്കുന്ന സമൃദ്ധിയുടെ പ്രതീകമാണ് 🌾

അതിഥികൾ പലപ്പോഴും ചോദിക്കുന്നതാണ് —
“ഇങ്ങനെ ഒരു ഭൂമി നിർമ്മിക്കാൻ നേതൃത്വം കൊടുത്തത് ആരാണ്?”
അപ്പോൾ അഭിമാനത്തോടെ ഞങ്ങൾ പറയുന്നത് —
👉 മുരിക്കിൻ മൂട്ടിൽ ജോസഫ് (മുരിക്കൻ) എന്ന മഹാത്മാവിന്റെ പേരാണ്.

പക്ഷേ ഇന്നത്തെ യാത്രയിൽ ഒരു വിചിത്ര അത്ഭുതം കാത്തിരുന്നു!
അതിഥികളിൽ ഒരാൾ പറഞ്ഞു —
“ജോസഫ് മുരിക്കന്റെ മൂത്ത മകന്റെ മകളാണ് ഞാൻ.”
റൂബി തോമസ് മാഡം ❤️ — ആ നിമിഷം ഞങ്ങൾക്കത് ഒരു ചരിത്രം ജീവനോടെ കണ്ടതുപോലെയായിരുന്നു!
കുട്ടനാടിന്റെ കഥ പറയുന്ന ഞങ്ങൾക്കായി അതൊരു മറക്കാനാകാത്ത അനുഭവമായി.

ഈ അവസരം ഒരുക്കി തന്ന റിട്ടയർഡ് പ്രൊഫസർ ശ്രീ. തോമസ് വർക്കി സാർ‌ക്കുള്ള ഹൃദയത്തിൽ നിന്നുള്ള നന്ദിയും കടപ്പാടും 🙏
