🌱 Social Forestry Day – June 2 🌱

On the occasion of Social Forestry Day, the Pachu Tourism Team coordinated a tree plantation program at the Phuentsholing View Point landslide area with the valuable support and participation of the people of Darjaygang village.

Together, we successfully planted 500 tree saplings, contributing to a greener and healthier environment for future generations. The Pachu Tourism Team also provided light refreshments to all participants as a token of appreciation.

This achievement reflects the power of teamwork, cooperation, and strong coordination. When communities come together with a shared purpose, great results can be achieved.

Pachu Community Tourism Team and Waterfall Team are on a trip to Maa Paradise, Alipurduar. This annual trip is organized by our Chairman, Nado, as a way to encourage and appreciate all tourism members for their dedication and hard work throughout the year.

Honoured and Inspired! 🇧🇹🌏

We are proud to share that Mr. Nado, Chairman of Pachu Community Tourism, recently attended the Regional Workshop on the “Development of Buddhist Circuit” held in the beautiful Tawang. Representing Bhutan alongside the dedicated team from the Tarayana Foundation, this was a milestone moment for our community.
The workshop was a vibrant melting pot of ideas, bringing together participants from 7 different countries. It was an incredible opportunity to:

• 🤝 Strengthen regional connections.
• 📚 Exchange diverse experiences and tourism strategies.
We returned with a wealth of knowledge and a renewed vision for how cultural exchange can drive community growth.

It was a privilege for me, as Chairman of Pachu Community Tourism, to represent our community at the session on “Strengthening Local Governance, Decentralisation & Gender Mainstreaming in Bhutan” held in Thimphu.

During this engaging discussion with the European Union and the Department of Local Governance (DLG), I had the opportunity to share our journey as a private sector contributor in the tourism industry. We reflected on both our achievements and the challenges we have encountered along the way.

A key message I emphasized is that the success of community-based tourism depends greatly on strong collaboration and sustained support from local governance. Through effective decentralisation and gender-inclusive approaches, tourism development can generate meaningful benefits for all members of the community while preserving our rich cultural heritage.

I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to the Department of Local Governance and the European Union for the invitation and for providing a platform that values and amplifies community voices. I look forward to continued collaboration and shared progress.

We were truly honored to welcome our international guests from China and Japan, who came to Bhutan for studies and research. They visited us upon the recommendation of their Bhutanese friend.

During their one-day stay, they immersed themselves in the peaceful village atmosphere, experienced our traditional lifestyle, enjoyed local cuisine, and connected with the rich culture of Pachu. Their presence brought meaningful cultural exchange and joyful moments to our community.
