Azimala Shiva Temple — also known as the Azhimala Siva Temple — is a beautiful and powerful seaside temple located near Vizhinjam, around 20 km from Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum) in Kerala.
Famous For: The towering 58-feet-tall Shiva statue, depicting Lord Shiva in a fierce posture as Gangadhara (carrying River Ganga in his matted locks).

Location: Azhimala cliff, near Chowara Beach, Vizhinjam, Thiruvananthapuram district.

Specialty: The temple sits on a cliff overlooking the Arabian Sea, offering a breathtaking panoramic ocean view. It’s both a spiritual and scenic destination.

The statue of Shiva here is one of the tallest Shiva sculptures in Kerala and is intricately detailed.

The artist behind the statue is P. S. Devadathan, who took nearly six years to complete it.
