The fort is quite ancient. Remnants of Microlithic man have been discovered here. The various Puranas (ancient scriptures) like Matsyapurana, Agnipurana and Skandapurana include many references about Harishchandragad. Its origin is said to have been in the 6th century, during the rule of Kalachuri dynasty. The citadel was built during this era. The various caves probably have been carved out in the 11th century. In these caves are idols of Lord Vishnu.

Sandhan Valley & Harishchandragad Trek

Day – 1
Date :- 18th February 2022 – Friday
Reporting at Sant Dnyaneshwar Sanskrutik Bhavan, Amravati at 04:00 PM.
Overnight journey to base village of Sandhan Valley.

Important Note :- Everyone has to reached at pickup point before 30 minutes.

Day – 2
Date :- 19th February 2022 – Saturday
Arrival at base village Ghatghar.
After breakfast and tea and packed lunch will head towards Sandhan Valley for awesome sightseeing.
And adventures activity- Rappelling.
Other place to see :- Reverse Waterfall, Mini Kokankada, Ajoba Dongar, Navra-Navri Khind.
Enjoy your time in natural springs.

Main attraction of Sandhan Valley :- Team of Famous Bollywood film Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior had recreated idea of sandhan valley in their film.After completion of all the activities will back towards Campsite.
Evening Snacks & Hi-tea.
Night stay at Tent on 2/3 sharing. (Couple tents are also available)
Dinner – Veg and Non-Veg food
Bonfire, Music, Dance etc.
Day – 3
Date :- 20th February 2022 – Sunday
Wake-up call at 06:00 AM
After Breakfast & Tea, Will start journey towards base village Pachnai. (Harishchandragad)

After reaching at base village everyone will keep their luggage at proper place. After tea will start trek to explore Harishchandragad and Kokankada.
Places to visit:-
• (Harishchandreshwar Temple)
• (Kedareshwar Cave)
• (Saptatirtha Pushkarni-Pond)
• (Ganesh Cave)

After lunch and some rest, then will move towards Great Trekking Spot Kokankada (sunset).
After exploring Kokankada will come back to campsite for Night Camping, Bonefire, Dinner.
Night stay at Tent on 2/3 sharing. (Couple tents are also available)Day – 4
Date :- 21th February 2022 – Monday
Wake-up call at 05:00 AM
Will start mini trek towards Taramati Peak to experience sunrise.
After sunrise will back towards campsite of kokankada after bag packing will take morning breakfast and tea at Harishchandragad.
