9 नवंबर 2000 को उत्तराखंड को सत्ताइसवें राज्य के रूप में भारत गणराज्य में शामिल किया गया. वर्ष 2000 से 2006 तक इसे उत्तरांचल के नाम से पुकारा जाता था, लेकिन जनवरी 2007 में स्थानीय लोगों की भावनाओं का सम्मान करते हुए इसका आधिकारिक नाम उत्तराखंड कर दिया गया Located at the foothills of the Himalayan mountain ranges, it is largely a hilly State, having international boundaries with China (Tibet) in th
