Anyone up for Kashi! Sorry, Sorry… Anyone up for Kashi of South, Antharagange. How lucky Namma Bengaluru people, kashi is just 70 kms away. We think, Geographical location is just coordinates; Lord Shiva, Ganga and Kashi are special in all coordinates. So, isn’t Antharagange must visit?
Antharagange literally means "Ganges from deep" (or) “inner gange”, in Kannada. It is a mountain situated in Kolar district, famous for Sri Kashi Vishweshwara temple, pond and caves behind the temple.
Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Pond in the temple, which gets a continuous flow of underground water from the mouth of a Basava (stone bull), considered as Ganga on the head of Lord Shiva. Mountain and Caves behind the temple adds little adventure to it. Together, we see it is perfect weekend sunrise treat.
Let’s add early morning coffee in the 24 hours famous kolar CCD and breakfast in kolar, to make it a prefect trip.

This site is a beautiful hillock near Tumkur for a mix of culture, nature and a bit of adventure, locally known as Basadi Betta, and well known as Mandargiri Hill. A perfect getaway for Namma Bengaluru people, just 60-odd kilometres from Bangalore.

81 feet high Pinchi (peacock feather) shaped Gurumandir, makes it an important piligrim place in Jain History, and puts it in everyone’s must visit, during Bangalore days.

Then comes our Basadi Betta (Hill), which charges us for a 15 minutes climb to reveal the rest of the beauty. We have a climb of roughly 435 steps to see the rest of the beauty!

On top of the hill, there are four Jain temples, constructed in the 12th and 14th century. Once we finish taking blessings in the temple, we will have the hidden treasure, panoramic view of Lake Mydala and nearby villages. View is so mischievous, it will take breath away, and hence we need to keep track of the time. Of course, we can dip our feet into the lake, after a short descent.

Last, but must click is 16 legs, aged humbled Mantapa on the top. It’s impossible to cross the Mantapa, without a click!
