Every winter in northern Sweden, an entire hotel is rebuilt from snow and ice — and by spring, it simply melts away into the river it came from.
Located in the tiny Arctic village of Jukkasjärvi, the world-famous ICEHOTEL is crafted using thousands of tons of ice harvested from the frozen Torne River.
What makes it even more incredible?
Each suite is uniquely designed by artists from around the world, featuring ice sculptures, glowing frozen walls, and hand-carved designs, meaning no two stays are ever the same.
Today, travelers from across the globe visit Swedish Lapland not just to sleep on ice beds wrapped in thermal sleeping bags, but also to experience dog sledding, snowmobiling, Sami culture, frozen forests, and the magical Northern Lights.
And for many, the adventure doesn’t stop there — Sweden’s Arctic region also offers opportunities for reindeer encounters, wilderness treks, ice fishing, and unforgettable journeys beneath the polar night sky.
