Chimpanzees are great apes sharing about 98.7% DNA with humans. They are closely related to bonobos, humans, gorillas and orangutans. They are one of the few animals known to use tools. Chimpanzees are highly intelligent and capable of problem-solving, memory and learning new skills.

Life in Kibale...

Nestled within the lush Kibale forest with towering trees and dense undergrowth -home to one of the world's most studied and vibrant communities of chimpanzees. Kivu was curious from the moment he could grasp the low-hanging branches of the forest canopy. His mother Malaika was a wise and well-respected female within the group, known for her calm demeanour and ability to navigate the complex social structures that define chimpanzee life.

Critically endangered Primates.
The trek to see the gorillas in Uganda was unforgettable. Hiking through the dense, lush Bwindi Forest was a thrilling challenge, and after hours of trekking, we finally spotted the gorillas in their natural habitat. It was surreal to see them so close, especially when a silverback casually walked past us!
The experience left me with a deep connection to wildlife and a renewed appreciation for conservation efforts. This was truly a once-in-a-lifetime adventure that I’ll never forget.

I spent intimate moments with my ancestors at Bwindi's impenetrable forest a few days ago.
