Its been Raining all this season and One of the interesting terrain beckoning to conquer this season. Finally the much awaited trek to Agumbe is back,
Brace yourselves to visit one of the beautiful places in karnataka thats Agumbe.
About The Place :
Agumbe :
* It is nestled in the thickly forested Malenadu region of the Western Ghats mountain range.
* Agumbe is associated with rainforest conservation efforts, documentation of medicinal plants, tourism (trekking and photography)
* The popular Agumbe Rainforest Research Station founded by the world renouned wildlife herpetologist
Romulus Whitaker was established as a sanctuary and study of the King Cobra, Agumbe's flagship species.
* Situated at an altitude of 826 m in Shimoga, its the tallest peak (about 3780 feet) in Agumbe Ghats.
* Agumbe Rainforest is a dense, wet, tropical evergreen ecosystem, high in its level of biodiversity and the most wettest place in south in receiving the heaviest rainfall in south india.
* Agumbe provides an environment for large and small mammals such as the endangered lion-tailed macaque and other species.
* Agumbe is a popular destination for bird watchers and photographers. Among the endemic birds are the Malabar trogon, the yellow-browed bulbul and Sri Lankan frogmouths.

Itinerary
Tentative Schedule
Friday:
Pickup from Silk Board Junction, Leave from Bangalore at 8.30 pm
Saturday:
07:30 AM - Reach Agumbe Basecamp. Freshen-up & Breakfast
9:00 AM - Proceed to base point & Start Trek to Narasimha Parvatha.
12:30 PM - Reach Barkana view point zone. Will rest for a while clicking photos and enjoying the views.
1:30 PM - Reach Second rest point after hiking toughest part of Narasimha parvatha. WIll break for Lunch.
4:00 PM - Reach Narasimha Parvatha peak and The APC located on top of the hill.
6:00 PM - Reach back to kigga. Our extraction zone for the trek.
9:00 PM - Have dinner and rest in the Shared tents near the base camp.
Sunday:
6:30 AM - Wake up - Freshen-up - Breakfast.
9:00 AM - Pack your bag & head towards agumbe to See ARRS, Kundadri and Sirimane Falls.
6:00 PM - Begin Our Journey back to bangalore.
5:30 AM - Reach back to Bangalore.
Note: Drop point will be the same as pick-up point.

Sunday AFternoon and Night Food cost needs to be considered by individuals.
