Nepal has been deeply affected by the devastating floods of August 2026. Communities have lost homes, businesses and vital infrastructure, and some travel routes and trekking areas have been disrupted.
But Nepal is not closed.

The impact has been concentrated in specific parts of the country, while many of Nepal’s iconic destinations continue to welcome travellers, including Pokhara, Kathmandu, Chitwan, Lumbini, the Everest region and Annapurna.
And this is where tourism matters.

When you travel, your spending reaches local hotels, guides, drivers, porters, restaurants, farmers, artisans and small businesses. Tourism contributes around 7% of Nepal’s GDP and supports about a million jobs, making it an important part of the country’s economic recovery.
