A few miles to go,
a few tasks to do,
the goal is insight,
soon there will be light at night.

We are gearing up; and i would like to thank all those who have contributed towards this journey so far.

We have achieved 69% of our fundraising goal, and while this is happening our Micro turbine has reached the base location.
Other equipments like wires and cables have been shipped, and our local team is getting ready for the task.

We however need a some special skilled volunteers. If you are a story teller and uses the medium video and photos to express, do give us a shout.

We have a few days left on our campaign, please support and spread the word to help us achieve our goal.

Northeast waste Collective is collecting as much ewaste to help channelise it responsibly and in turn light up some homes for the The Batti Project.

This Rongali you can drop off your ewaste at Sonaram Field, Bharalumukh - Guwahati, Assam.

Dates : 5th 6th and 7th April, 2019.

Only 1.5 percent of the e-waste generated in India gets recycled. It's time to change that!

This Rongali, declutter your homes of any unwanted gadgets and drop it off at the e-waste collection zone at Rongali to help in recycling it responsibly.

Northeast Waste Collective is collecting as much e-waste as possible!

By channelizing e-waste for safe recycling, we use the money generated to light up remote homes in the Northeast. Simple!

What is e-waste?

All kinds of electronic and electrical appliances no longer fit for their intended use are considered e-waste. These devices could include computers and their accessories, mobile phones and chargers, remotes, CDs, headphones, batteries, ACs, refrigerators, etc.

It’s time to switch on the lights, again.

Where ?

Govt. Primary Residential School
Jumupani,
Lower Dibang Valley,
Arunachal Pradesh

Mission:

Install a 2Kv hybrid power unit. that will use water from a near by stream, and solar PV’s
that will provide energy their basic needs to a residential school that houses 50 students, 7 street lights and 12 households near by.
Teach villagers how to generate their own power
Set up a sustainable model to manage and maintain the power plant.

Partners:
Technical University of Munich, (TUM) Germany.
Our system will be designed and executed by a team from TUM. Last year, this team were kind to walk with us to these remote regions to understand how much power is needed and how we can use renewable resources to empower the local people.
On completion, this will become a prototype for villagers to generate, manage and maintain their own electrical needs.

How can you come on board?

Though we have managed to gather some funds for the power generation, we have to manage a mammoth task of carrying almost 900kgs of equipment, which includes the motor, batteries, wires, solar panels heavy duty pipes, lights and appliances, through hanging bridges and narrow gorges on foot.

We are short of 350000/- Three lakh fifty thousand.
