**“A 10-foot statue of S. P. Balasubrahmanyam, the legendary South Indian playback singer whose timeless voice touched millions, was unveiled last week in Palakkad, Kerala.. The initiative was led by Malayalam Playback Singers Association (SAMAM) in association with Joyalukkas Group and Manorama Online.
The ceremony was graced by M. M. Keeravani, along with his son, S. P. Charan, family members, and several renowned South Indian playback singers and music directors.
In a fitting tribute, around 30 South Indian playback singers united to celebrate his extraordinary legacy, performing a selection of his most iconic and timeless melodies. Notable music legends including Hariharan, K. S. Chithra, Sujatha Mohan, Vijay Yesudas, Mano, Unni Menon, Madhu Balakrishnan, and S. P. Charan were among those who took part, making it an evening filled with nostalgia, emotion, and musical reverence.”**
