Peden Doma Bhutia from the Skift caught up with Samual Machado during the recently concluded Media Day event, held as part of Sabre Bengaluru GCC’s 20th anniversary celebrations.

In their conversation, Sam spoke about Sabre’s strategic focus on India - from hiring top talent from premier institutes like IIM, to expanding our tech capabilities through Bengaluru GCC, and staying agile in a rapidly evolving travel landscape.

Like every year, the Bengaluru GCC came together yesterday to celebrate the World Day for Cultural Diversity – one of the most awaited event on our DEI calendar! It's a day we dedicate to recognizing and embracing the incredible diversity that defines our country, from its vibrant cultures and languages to its rich heritage and flavours.

To mark the occasion, our spirited Ascenders Bengaluru team, alongside our enthusiastic engineering intern batch of 2025, put together a delightful cultural showcase. The event featured soulful music, energetic dance performances, a vibrant fashion show, and a light-hearted skit that highlighted the importance of unity and togetherness.

As part of our 20th anniversary celebrations, we opened our doors to some very special guests last Friday - the children of our Sabre Bengaluru team members, for a fun-filled Bring Your Kids to Work day!

From entertaining activities to the endless curiosity, laughter, and energy they brought along, the day was nothing short of magical! Over 200 kids, aged 2 to 15, took part in a global adventure - complete with themed passports, boarding passes, and experiences from around the world.

From spin art, arts & crafts, STEM experiments, and VR games to face painting, dance, and an engaging emcee-led entertainment show - every corner of the office was buzzing with joy and discovery!

Thank you to all the young explorers for lighting up our workplace and reminding us what wonder looks like!

In our monthly ‘We Connect’ session yesterday, we covered a range of important topics that matter to our teams. Rency Mathew kicked things off with key updates and recent highlights from our site. This was followed by Orati Saha from the Site Council, who spoke about the mental wellness resources available to support our people. Naren Mohan and Shehla Jalal from our Sustainability CoP, then highlighted the importance of completing the Travel Positive training, reinforcing our shared commitment to adopting sustainable practices. Preethy Ayappan from the Innovation Community wrapped up the session with updates on our internal Agentic AI Hackathon - a great example of how we’re nurturing innovation from within. The session also featured an open Q&A, where our senior leaders addressed some of the questions top-of-mind for many team members.

Organised as part of Sabre Bengaluru GCC’s 20th anniversary celebrations, this event offered us the chance to share our journey with the media - reflecting on our past, spotlighting the cutting-edge products and solutions we’re building today, and offering a glimpse into our future, powered by collaborations with partners like Google and Coforge.

In addition to showcasing our product innovations and the pivotal role that Bengaluru GCC plays in driving them, the media also had the opportunity to engage with our Women in Technology (W!T) and Hyperjump internship teams, who are breaking new ground in DEI and reimagining hiring practices at Sabre.
