Before the Pyramids, before Pharaohs, Egypt was just a river and a survival plan. 🏜️➡️🌾
Around 7000 years ago, as the Sahara dried, people moved into the Nile Valley. The annual flood left behind black, fertile silt — and that silt built a civilization.
In EPISODE 01 of our Egypt History Reel Series, we start at the true beginning:
Badari villages (c. 5000 BC) → Naqada culture → first towns like Hierakonpolis, Naqada & Abydos.
They made iconic black-topped pottery, ivory figurines, fine flint knives, and even traded lapis lazuli all the way from Afghanistan. They invented early writing just to label their goods. Small villages became powerful towns — and powerful towns needed kings.
That's how Egypt was born. Not by magic, but by the Nile.
📍 You can still trace this story today — in the galleries of the Egyptian Museum Cairo & NMEC, and at early sites like Hierakonpolis and Abydos.
Follow the series as we move chronologically from Predynastic to Pharaohs. Next up: Narmer and the Unification.
