In a strong show of support for Kashmir’s tourism revival, over 1,600 members of the Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI) will gather in Srinagar and Pahalgam from June 13–16.

Once a booming destination, Kashmir’s tourism industry suffered a major blow after the tragic April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam. Hotel bookings plummeted and travel plans were cancelled en masse.

This upcoming meet aims to rebuild trust within the travel fraternity and reassure tourists of Kashmir’s readiness to welcome them again.

As part of wider confidence-building, the Jammu & Kashmir administration is preparing for a shorter but heavily secured Amarnath Yatra (July 3–Aug 9), deploying over 580 units of security forces to ensure safe pilgrimages and reinforce the region’s tourism safety message.

The Philippines is now offering visa-free entry for Indian travellers, with two new options introduced following its e-visa launch in December 2024.

🇵🇭 Known for its turquoise waters, white sand beaches, and volcanic landscapes, the Philippines is fast becoming a favourite among Indian tourists.

✈️ Two Types of Visa-Free Entry:
🔹 14-Day Visa-Free Entry
Open to all Indian citizens visiting for tourism.

Conditions:
🔸Non-extendable and non-convertible
🔸Entry via major international airports, secondary airports, or seaports (cruise passengers included)

Must present:
👉 Valid passport (6+ months)
👉 Confirmed return/onward ticket
👉 Proof of accommodation
👉 Proof of sufficient funds
👉 No immigration violations in the Philippines

🔹 30-Day Visa-Free Entry
For Indian passport holders with valid visas or permanent residency from:

⚠️ Amid the ongoing situation, many airlines have suspended flights to and from the following stations:
Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh, Rajkot and more, subject to further guidance from authorities.

Due to the prevailing situation and resulting airspace restrictions, several airports in Northern India are currently closed or experiencing disrupted operations. 🇮🇳

This includes 🛬:

• Fully closed airports: Dharamshala (DHM), Leh (IXL), Jammu (IXJ), Srinagar (SXR), and Amritsar (ATQ) — until further notice.

• Partially affected operations: Bikaner (BKB), Jodhpur (JDH), Bhuj (BHJ), Jamnagar (JGA), Chandigarh (IXC) and Rajkot (RAJ) — flights to/from these locations may face delays or cancellations.

• Air India has cancelled all flights to/from Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh and Rajkot until 12 noon on 7th May, with further updates pending.

• International flights bound for are being diverted to Delhi. 🧳

What You Should Do 🕒:

• Check your flight status regularly on the airline’s official website or app before leaving for the airport.

• Avoid travel to affected airports until official operations resume.

• Stay updated via airline advisories, Fareclubs notifications and local news sources.

Starting May 1, all foreign visitors to Thailand must fill out a Digital Arrival Card — replacing the current paper-based system.

According to the Tourism Authority of Thailand, travellers can complete the form individually or as a group up to three days before arrival. Required details include passport info, travel itinerary, accommodation and a basic health declaration.

The move aims to help combat human trafficking into Southeast Asia’s illegal cybercrime networks. The digital cards will be linked to Thailand’s biometric database to screen visitors for criminal history.

The form is accessible via the Thai Immigration Bureau’s official website and will be mandatory for arrivals by air, land, or sea.
