Our unique initiative combining Raksha Bandhan with an Anti-Addiction (Nisanibaran) Pledge has received prominent coverage in the prestigious Odia daily 'Sambad' (Berhampur Edition, 28th August 2026)!

Hands-on Science in Action: Exploring Thermal Conduction at Gram Vikas High School, Kankia! 🔬🔥

Learning science is most effective when students observe concepts firsthand. Our Class 7 (B) students participated in an interactive physics experiment to understand the principles of Thermal Conduction (ତାପ ପରିବହନ / Tapa Paribahana) and heat transfer.

Thermal Conduction: The process by which heat flows from a region of higher temperature to a region of lower temperature within a medium or between mediums in direct physical contact, without the actual movement of the matter itself.

Experiment Highlights:

🕯️ Observing Heat Transfer: Using a metal scale fixed between bricks, wax, and iron pins, students heated one end with a candle flame and watched the pins drop sequentially as heat traveled across the metal strip.

⚖️ Convection & Thermal Balance: Exploring air currents and heat movement using balanced paper cups over a heat source.

🧠 Conceptual Clarity: Turning textbook physics into a memorable, tangible experience that sparks genuine curiosity.

Exploring Magnet Types: Identifying bar, horseshoe, ring, and cylindrical magnets.

Emergency Stretcher Making: Building functional stretchers using just two bamboo poles and ropes for immediate rescue operations.
