The 79th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor at Gram Vikas High School (GVHS), Kankia. The school campus was beautifully decorated with flags and flowers, reflecting the spirit of freedom and unity.
The program commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by the distinguished guest Dr. Joe Madiath, Founder of Gram Vikas, followed by the singing of the National Anthem by students and staff. The presence of eminent personalities like Advocate Indira Padhi, Kankia Sarpanch Shri Shekhar Nayak, and respected tribal leaders Shri Kailash Mallik and Shri Sudam Mallik added grace and significance to the occasion.
In their addresses, the guests highlighted the importance of freedom and the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters. They also motivated the students to uphold values of unity, integrity, and social responsibility for building a stronger nation.
The program concluded with a heart-touching cultural performance by the students, showcasing patriotic songs, tribal dances, and skits that reflected India’s rich cultural heritage and the struggles of our freedom movement. The vibrant performances left the audience deeply moved and filled with pride for the nation.
The celebration at GVHS, Kankia, not only honored the glorious history of India’s independence but also instilled in everyone present a renewed sense of patriotism and commitment to the nation’s progress.
