The DIRK estates in India and England became an Authors Hub.
Was it the Goan climate and hospitality of the owners of Casa Jorge and Villa Ivanka or the refreshing breeze of the Irish Sea at House Moewe helping to light up the imagination of these authors during their stay working as resident writers?
Their books are available in the book stores of the Czech Republic and on internet. If you find it difficult to obtain those: here are some links.
First was Marysa Krausova, a medical doctor, who published two books about her assignments abroad – Doctor in Zambia and Doctor in Bangladesh.

Then there was Jiri Kostelecky, a President of Rilke Foundation, who finalized in Goa his novel The End of Carnival.

A well known author of 8 novels with great variety of style (history, scifi, fantasy), Lucie Lukacovicova, wrote parts of many of her novels and short stories in Goa. The two latest, Green Dragon, Crimson Lion, and Burning Horse také place on the historical background of Prague during the reign of Rudolf II and Spain of 11th century, respectively.

The work of Petra Lukačovičová has found so far its climax in her favourite genre of urban fantasy – she also worked at her novel Collection of Virtues in Goa.

Danka Šárková is the author of romance novels, the latest Light and Darkness and Mountain Woman, and we had pleasure to welcome her to our Goan home recently.

One of Goa's attraction is its multi cultural society and and the wide religious spectrum as well as its unforgotten Portuguese colonial history. Georg and Ivana Dirk although Catholics are ambassadors for religious tolerance.
With this in mind they installed in the outer wall of their Goan Villa Ivanka a plaque which can be seen by all passers-by saying:
"There is only one GOD and HE is the enemy of no one"

Dirk Estates is a part of the international DIRK Group which has been engaged through years in various environmentally related activities. Georg and Ivana Dirk have been enjoying the hobby of travelling and exploring different nations, their culture and their lifestyle. They spent considerable time on the most continents – in some places they stayed for years. An especially long spell of time was spent in India in the holy town of Nashik, where they worked and gathered a deep insight into the Indian life. Now they would like to make some of this international HOME collection available for other travel addicts providing them a home away from home.
