A thoughtful academic journey awaits Drakshan Abeer at Azim Premji University, Bengaluru, where she will pursue a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Psychology.

A writer, debater, and performer, Drakshan has always embraced opportunities to learn, express, and engage with different perspectives. Her work across literary competitions, debates, research projects, and public speaking has shaped her approach to learning, while her curiosity about human behaviour has drawn her towards psychology, particularly criminal psychology.

After receiving offers from several leading universities, she chose Azim Premji University for the next chapter of her academic journey.

Recently, our Grade 1, 2 and 3 students headed out on different field trips, each connected to what they are learning in their classrooms.

Grade 1 explored different sports at T.T. Nagar Stadium. Grade 2 spent time at Van Vihar National Park, observing animals in their natural habitats. Grade 3 visited the Regional Science Centre, where science became something they could see, explore and question.

Different places, different experiences, but one simple idea: learning becomes a little more meaningful when children get to experience it for themselves.

For National Nutrition Month, we decided to put a few everyday teen nutrition myths under the microscope as part of our Nourish to Flourish campaign.

Somewhere between a skipped breakfast, a hurried lunch and “I’ll eat properly after exams”, food can quietly become an afterthought. And then there are the shortcuts. An energy drink for the late-night study session. Instant noodles because there’s no time. A wellness hack picked up from a reel because it sounds convincing.

But nutrition is rarely about shortcuts. What we found was a useful reminder: what we eat has something to do with how we focus, how we feel and how we get through the day.

No extreme diets. No complicated rules. Just a little more thought about what we put on our plate.

A conversation with an alumnus can make a familiar idea of “what comes next” feel a little more real.

During their visit to Project Hum, Mumbai, our students spent time with alumnus Jatin Talreja, learning more about the space he has built and the thought behind it.

There were questions, stories, and an easy exchange between a former student and students who are still finding their own paths.

Sometimes, the most meaningful learning happens when students get to meet someone who once sat where they are today, and see what they chose to do with the road ahead.

Hindi Diwas 2026 | BHIS Bhopal

Hindi is part of so many of the stories, songs, poems, and everyday conversations that shape our world. At BHIS Bhopal, Hindi Diwas 2026 was an opportunity to pause and celebrate that connection.

Across grades, our students took part in a range of activities that brought the language into the classroom in different ways - inviting them to read, create, express, explore and engage with Hindi beyond the textbook. Celebrating a language is also about making space for it: to be heard, enjoyed and used with confidence.

At the Regional Round of Debattle 7.0 – The National Inter-School Parliamentary Debate Competition, our young debaters earned the opportunity to take their arguments to the national stage.

Hitarth Motwani (Grade 11), Veer Gothi (Grade 11), Dev Chand Warwade (Grade 10) and Samaira Chhabra (Grade 9) emerged as the Regional Round winners, securing the first position among 32 participating teams from leading schools across the Bhopal region.

Across five challenging rounds, they navigated the demands of Asian Parliamentary debating—thinking on their feet, building sharp arguments and presenting them with confidence.

Their journey continues at the National Round in October 2026.

This September, as we observe National Nutrition Month through our Nourish to Flourish campaign, our little ones are discovering that nourishing ourselves can begin with something as simple as knowing what’s on our plate. As part of our European Culture celebrations, our Sr. KG children enjoyed Pancake Day by bringing their favourite pancakes from home. But the fun went beyond the flipping and eating.

Each child got to talk about what was in their pancake, what made it nutritious, and share the little “secret ingredient” that made their recipe special. A delicious way to discover that good food can be fun to talk about too, especially when we are learning to make mindful choices from an early age.

The next time Vivaan Sharma from grade 2 takes to the ice, he will be skating for India.

Vivaan represented Madhya Pradesh at the 21st National Ice Skating Championship. His performance there secured him a place in the Indian team for the Asian Open Short Track Speed Skating Trophy 2026.

Behind the selection are months of training, early practices and the discipline to keep showing up.

Vivaan will join the Team India National Camp before heading to the Asian Open Short Track Speed Skating Trophy 2026.

Across Junior School, students explored cleanliness and hygiene through age-appropriate activities—from personal hygiene sessions and quizzes to puppet shows, skits, pledges and a Hand Wash Day for our preschoolers.

For them, cleanliness is not just a school routine. They are learning that small, everyday choices can influence their homes, neighbourhoods and communities. By practising these habits and encouraging others to do the same, they hope to help create cleaner, healthier spaces beyond the school gate.

As one student put it, “So, cleanliness should not stop at the school gate. We can carry it with us wherever we go” - because awareness matters most when it travels with us.
