​Please be advised that the Electricity Department has scheduled a planned annual maintenance shutdown affecting the entire Canacona Taluka and substantial parts of South Goa.
​This maintenance is crucial to perform infrastructure upgrades and ensure a stable power supply for the upcoming season.

🕖 TIME: 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM (approximately 9 hours)

​📍 AFFECTED AREAS:
​Entire Canacona Taluka
​Full South Goa District & New Kushawati District . Including Salcete, Sanguem, Quepem, and Mormugao Talukas.

​Normal power supply is expected to be restored by 4:00 PM. The department regrets the inconvenience caused and appreciates your cooperation.

Yesterday was a truly blessed Sunday for the entire community of Canacona. We celebrated our glorious annual Jatrotsav at the historical and sacred Shri Mallikarjun Temple.

It was a day filled with unparalleled devotion, tradition, and the powerful spiritual energy that defines our Goan Hindu heritage.
We are incredibly grateful to have witnessed the most awaited and profound moment of the Jatra: the Sacred Avatar! (The procession of the Avatar Purush deities).

According to our cherished traditions, this is the magnificent day when the smaller deities from surrounding hamlets—representing Lord Mallikarjun's divine assembly—are carried in a reverent procession to the main temple.

It is a symbolic and potent divine reunion, where they are worshipped alongside the main deity, Advat Sinhasanadheeshwara Mahapati.

To capture a glimpse of this transcendent moment, I am sharing a video of the sacred Avatar procession as it arrived at the temple gates amidst the resonance of traditional Goan instruments and the roars of "Deva! Deva!" from thousands of devotees.

CRITICAL UPDATE: GAS LEAKAGE CONFIRMED & FULL AREA EVACUATED AT BARCEM NH 66 MISHAP

​🚫 HIGHWAY CLOSED:
​The NH 66 at Barcem remains totally blocked following the HP Gas tanker mishap.
​The incident is located on NH 66, between Balli and Canacona.

​🔥 DANGER: GAS LEAKAGE:
​Authorities have confirmed that there is an LPG gas leakage from the overturned tanker.

​📣 AREA EVACUATION:
​Due to the confirmed leakage, a full evacuation of the immediate area is now being executed for safety.

​🚧 DETOUR IN EFFECT:
​All traffic is being diverted via the Betul route to Canacona.

​⏳ ESTIMATED CLEARANCE:
​A detailed inspection and safety checks are required before the site can be cleared.

​A six-hour clearance is likely, with the site expected to be cleared in at least six hours.
