Manimahesh Kailash also known as Chamba Kailash stands high above the Manimahesh Lake, which is believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva. It is located in the Bharmour subdivision of Chamba district in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. The peak is in the Budhil Valley, 26 km from Bharmour. It is one of the major pilgrimage sites in Himachal Pradesh.

The word Manimahesh means jewel or gem and Mahesh refers to Lord Shiva. Hence, the name Manimahesh symbolizes the jewel on the crown of Lord Shiva. It is said that on full moon nights, the rays of the moon can be seen reflecting from the gem in the Manimahesh Lake, also known as Dal Lake.
