What exactly are we calling “heritage”?
A monument?
A palace?
A centuries-old temple?
Yes.
But heritage is also a recipe passed from one generation to another.
A craft that survives because someone still practices it.
A story that a local guide remembers.
A neighbourhood that has retained its character.
A festival, a language, a ritual — or simply a way of living.
Perhaps the most interesting heritage is not the heritage behind glass.
It is the heritage that is still alive.
This is at the heart of how we design our cultural journeys at WalkAroundIndia — including our journey through Jaipur, Jodhpur, Mandawa and Udaipur, where magnificent forts and palaces are only part of the story.
We want travellers to experience the Rajasthan behind the monuments — its people, food, crafts, architecture, stories and living traditions.
Because the real challenge isn’t simply to preserve heritage.
It is to make people care about it.
And that changes everything about how we design travel experiences.
Want to experience Rajasthan beyond the landmarks?
Travel with us — slowly, curiously and a little deeper.
