No caption needed.
A clear evidence of dog and vultures interaction. The ball definitely goes in the court of dogs because the vulture didn't come back that day.

Feral dogs rising population close to the fringes of forest is posing quite a challenge for the wildlife to thrive. These dogs were seen jumping and chasing vultures while they were trying to scavenge. Some vultures were struck badly. They dropped from their ascend and were shrilling for escape.

Not something one would like to see, but yes this is currently the most prominent problem faced during vulture conservation and monitoring as these dogs don't even spare a lone person walking, they will furiously charge and bark.

On International Vulture Awareness Day 2025, our founder .agrawal07 and co-founder joined hands with the Forest Department at Chitrakoot to honour the true clean-up crew of nature, the vultures. All thanks to for this wonderful opportunity. The morning began with a bird and vulture watching session led by Nitish, where the forest staff participated with enthusiasm, sharing stories and asking thoughtful questions.
Later, at Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Inter College, students poured their creativity into a vulture colouring competition, engaged in a rapid-fire quiz, and listened to storytelling sessions that helped them understand why these birds are so important.
The day concluded with a meaningful dialogue with the Forest Department staff on on-ground realities, population updates, conservation issues, and practical solutions.

These magnificent birds silently keep our ecosystems clean and healthy, yet they need our voices now more than ever. Together, we touched lives and spread the message of conservation.

EGYPTIAN VULTURE thinking why people assume I am from Egypt, while taking off.
One of the breeding individuals from a successful nesting this year was roosting on the edges of ravine until it was too late to get back home.
This year the vultures nesting has showcased strong results with colonies expanding.

We look forward to sharing some interesting upcoming developments that everyone can be a part of.

World observed third Friday of the month May i.e 16 May 2025 as "Endangered Species Day" (in frame a Himalayan Griffon Vulture landing, winter migrant to Central India)
This post is late as the search to find vultures in people's and organisations post failed. There were tigers, rhinos, orangutans, turtles, snakes, insects and what not but there were no vultures.
India by far has seen one of the most catastrophic decline of this species in last two decades and their population currently is suffering to increase due to many underlining issues.

As a custodian for vultures, we stand with them and wish everyone a "Happy endangered species day" where we are happy to share that this year our monitoring has resulted an addition of 25 new healthy juveniles which are now learning to fly, land and scout.

This season is going to be exciting, we wish to see you with us on our walking excursion starting this September.

Waiting for the turn!
Dogs are indeed humans best friend, but the dogs are not friends with vultures.

Conservation is not about making things available for the concerning species, it is the process of understanding the underlying threats, challenges and then designing an actionable program which benefits the ecosystem.

In vulture dominated landscape, often human habitation causes dogs population to grow. Bonus is availability of carcasses that ensures they get plenty of food. This food competition between dogs and dogs lead to their furious and attacking nature.

This nature subsequently impact the vultures. Dogs are seen chasing vultures and their flock while they are scavenging. It often leads to the death of these vultures by the feral ranging dogs if caught.

Another concern that arises by feral dog feeding on carcasses is that dogs have a very weak digestive system due to which they are unable to isolate the infections developing on carcasses and digest the meat, which vultures are able to. Rather they become carrier for diseases. In chances of human or wildlife contact, they will transmit these diseases to the interacting individual which can be life threatening and can cause epidemic like conditions if the virus is contagious.

What is the solution? The only solution is to control the population of these dogs by neutering (cruelty free). Other solutions will work but their negative impact is more damaging for the ecosystem.

Have you ever wondered how nature works, or are you tired of rushing through it? The best way to truly understand nature is by slowing down and observing it closely, in its peaceful rhythm.

Join us for a walking safari in the Vindhya region of Madhya Pradesh, where you can experience nature’s raw beauty. This adventure allows you to explore, from tiny insects to towering trees, and discover the secrets of the vultures.

On this journey, you’ll visit majestic waterfalls, the home of the iconic vultures. Our safari offers three unique trails, each focusing on a different species—Hyenas, Jackals, or Leopards—and provides insight into the daily lives of vultures.

During this winter, you will be able to witness 6 vulture species at one place—soaring, roosting, scavenging, or nesting. Migratory birds, reptiles, and mongooses often find shelter in this vast landscape, reminding you to walk with care. This safari combines wildlife observation with ecological learning, making it a must for nature lovers.

Bookings are open with a limited slot. We prefer smaller groups for better interaction. For a detailed itinerary, please DM us. We will get back to you with a 4-Day, 3-Night planned itinerary and logistics.
