What if Instagram stopped deciding what you see? 👀📱

Right now, algorithms decide a lot of what appears on our feeds — based on what we watch, like, share and interact with.

But Australia is proposing something interesting:

“My Feed, My Way.” 🇦🇺

The idea is to give users a choice between:

🤖 Personalised algorithmic feed

👥 Following-only feed

So instead of the algorithm deciding what comes next, you could choose to see content mainly from the people you actually follow.

But here’s the crazy question…
Does the algorithm help us discover content… or does it slowly decide what we consume? 🤯

And Instagram has a different view — arguing that removing algorithmic recommendations could make the experience worse for many users.

We’re all going back to the 80s… 📸🕺
But apparently, we’re taking water with us. 💀💧

The 80s AI photo trend is everywhere right now. Upload a photo, give AI a prompt, and suddenly you look like you were born in 1985. 😂

But behind every AI-generated image are powerful data centres, GPUs, cooling systems and electricity — all of which have a real environmental footprint.

Some recent estimates suggest that generating AI images can have a water footprint of several millilitres per image. At massive scale, that can add up to hundreds of thousands of litres.

And here’s the crazy part…

The actual 1980s in India saw one of the country’s worst droughts — the 1987 drought, which caused severe water and agricultural shortages across many regions.

So…

1980s: “தண்ணி எங்க?” 💧😭
2026: “80s photo எங்க?” 😂📸

We’re recreating the 80s…
Hopefully we don’t recreate the water crisis too. 👀

There’s a village in India where twins are everywhere. 👯‍♂️😳

Kodinhi, a village in Kerala, has become famous for its unusually high number of twin births.

With estimates reporting hundreds of twin pairs among roughly 2,000 families, the village has attracted researchers and visitors trying to understand one simple question:

Why are there so many twins here?

Genetics?
Environment?
Food?
Something else?

Researchers have studied the community and collected biological samples, but there still isn't one definitive scientific explanation for the phenomenon.

A normal-looking village… with a very unusual mystery. 👀

The idea was developed through NASA’s Deep Space Food Challenge — with the bigger question being:

The current product is still a research prototype, not something you can buy and eat today.
