Sri lanka travel now even more simple
Effective from 27th September 2024, Sri Lanka has reestablished the ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) visa system. Tourists wishing to travel to Sri Lanka can now easily obtain their visa by visiting the official portal: https://eta.gov.lk.
For travelers from restricted countries, it is mandatory to apply for a tourist visa prior to their arrival through the aforementioned link. All other travelers can opt to obtain their visa upon arrival.
Tourists from countries eligible for the free visa scheme, including India, Russia, China, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand, can obtain their visa at the visa counter upon arrival at no cost. For other travelers, the visa fees will remain the same as those set on 16th April 2024: USD 20 for SAARC countries and USD 35 for all other countries for a 30-day tourist visa.
Please note that visa categories introduced on 17th April 2024 are no longer in effect.
