Bohemian Adventures

Bohemian Adventures The Himalayas are our calling, passion and life. We live and breathe the mountains and they sustain The safety of our clients is our first priority.

Bohemian Adventures is a company founded by Anusha Subramanian, Shashi Bahuguna and Guneet Puri. The seeds of our friendship were sowed in 2009 in the mountains when we were both still pursuing our respective main stream careers. Over the next few years as we climbed together and very recently as we volunteered together during the Uttarakhand disaster we realised that it was in the Himalayas where

our calling lay. Our philosophy with regards to BA is simple, "of the mountains, for the mountains and by the mountains". We view the mountains as our home and as we do what we do best here, climb and trek, we also aim to give back to our home by providing a sustainable economic scenario to its residents. As far as possible we try to provide our clients a glimpse into the lives of the mountain folk, their culture and traditions with home stays along our trek routes. We have on our treks guides that are from the villages on our trek routes thus being able to provide them with a comprehensive insight into the traditions and folk lore of the area. This is achieved by having a minimum of 3:1 client to guide ratio and a group of no more than 12 on a trek (after all we are not here to herd cattle up the mountains). We also recce all our treks a week prior to taking our clients so that actual on ground eventualities may be accessed and provided for. All our treks have a 50-50 male-female guide ratio. And we also organise women only treks where all guides and trip leaders are women. Our vision for the years to come includes the promotion of women in the sport of mountaineering and trekking both as team leaders and guides. We also hope to lead by example by having stricter and more stringent safety guidelines implemented in the Himalayas.

🌿 WORLD NATURE CONSERVATION DAY

The mountains have given us breathtaking sunrises, quiet forests, flowing rivers and memories that last a lifetime.

What do we give back?

Every wrapper carried home, every trail respected, every piece of litter picked up, and every wildlife encounter observed from a distance makes a difference.

At Bohemian Adventures we believe adventure is not about conquering nature. It is about becoming a better visitor.

This , let's promise to leave every trail cleaner than we found it, tread lightly and inspire others to do the same.

The greatest adventure is ensuring these wild places remain wild for generations to come. 🌏💚

Technical skills get people up mountains.

Human skills help leaders understand people.

A recent story shared by a woman trekker raised an important question for me. As trekking becomes more commercialised, are we paying enough attention to empathy, communication, and judgement, or are we focusing only on certifications and summits?

The mountains are about people as much as they are about peaks.

When things don't go according to plan, what participants remember isn't just the decision that was made.

It's how that decision was made.

Swipe through and tell me what you think.

“Are we asking the right questions?” Following the devastating loss of two trekkers, we must look deeper than ‘weather’ and ‘preparation.’

We need a cultural shift in how we approach adventure, accountability, and what we define as ‘success’ in the outdoors. It’s not about being ‘fearless’; it’s about being responsible.

Let’s discuss. What is the biggest barrier to a culture of true accountability in the mountains?

Some journeys are measured in kilometres.

The best ones are measured in moments.

A misty trail. The sound of rain on leaves. A quiet sunrise over the mountains. Conversations that happen only when the world slows down.

This is why we keep going back to the outdoors.
Not to conquer mountains. Not to collect summits.
But to reconnect with nature, with people, and with ourselves.

Every trail has a story. Every journey leaves something behind and gives something back.

If you’ve been quietly wondering whether a Himalayan trek is still possible for you, this one is for you.

Dayara Bugyal is a gentle, meadow-filled trail in Uttarakhand that we’ve designed as a women-only trek for women 45+. It’s not about racing to a summit or “keeping up” with twenty‑somethings. It’s about walking at a thoughtful pace, breathing deeper, and letting the mountains meet you where you are.

On this departure we focus on:

A beginner‑friendly route with time to move slowly and rest.

A paced itinerary that respects your body, your joints, your sleep, and your energy.

A supportive women-only group, held by experienced guides who understand first-time and returning trekkers.

You don’t have to be “super fit” to begin. You do need time, guidance, and a group that feels safe. That’s what we hold for you—right from preparation calls and training suggestions, to quiet tea breaks in the meadow and gentle encouragement on the trail.

If a part of you has been saying “someday I’ll go to the mountains”, this could be your year to start.

DM “DAYARA WOMEN” and we’ll share the dates, detailed itinerary, and a simple preparation plan to help you decide if this is the right beginning for you. as

Walk the forested trails of Prabalmachi, climb past ancient walls, and stand atop the legendary Prabalgad. 🌿✨

So close to Mumbai, yet so often forgotten.
The Sahyadris stretch out under a vast open sky, waiting quietly while city life keeps us tangled in deadlines and noise.

Step onto a trail, and everything shifts — the air feels lighter, the forest slows you down, and you finally hear your own thoughts again.
Sometimes, you don’t need to escape far. You just need to return to what’s been beside you all along. 🌿✨
