Bohemian Adventures

Bohemian Adventures The Himalayas are our calling, passion and life. We live and breathe the mountains and they sustain The safety of our clients is our first priority.

Bohemian Adventures is a company founded by Anusha Subramanian, Shashi Bahuguna and Guneet Puri. The seeds of our friendship were sowed in 2009 in the mountains when we were both still pursuing our respective main stream careers. Over the next few years as we climbed together and very recently as we volunteered together during the Uttarakhand disaster we realised that it was in the Himalayas where

our calling lay. Our philosophy with regards to BA is simple, "of the mountains, for the mountains and by the mountains". We view the mountains as our home and as we do what we do best here, climb and trek, we also aim to give back to our home by providing a sustainable economic scenario to its residents. As far as possible we try to provide our clients a glimpse into the lives of the mountain folk, their culture and traditions with home stays along our trek routes. We have on our treks guides that are from the villages on our trek routes thus being able to provide them with a comprehensive insight into the traditions and folk lore of the area. This is achieved by having a minimum of 3:1 client to guide ratio and a group of no more than 12 on a trek (after all we are not here to herd cattle up the mountains). We also recce all our treks a week prior to taking our clients so that actual on ground eventualities may be accessed and provided for. All our treks have a 50-50 male-female guide ratio. And we also organise women only treks where all guides and trip leaders are women. Our vision for the years to come includes the promotion of women in the sport of mountaineering and trekking both as team leaders and guides. We also hope to lead by example by having stricter and more stringent safety guidelines implemented in the Himalayas.

If you’ve been quietly wondering whether a Himalayan trek is still possible for you, this one is for you.

Dayara Bugyal is a gentle, meadow-filled trail in Uttarakhand that we’ve designed as a women-only trek for women 45+. It’s not about racing to a summit or “keeping up” with twenty‑somethings. It’s about walking at a thoughtful pace, breathing deeper, and letting the mountains meet you where you are.

On this departure we focus on:

A beginner‑friendly route with time to move slowly and rest.

A paced itinerary that respects your body, your joints, your sleep, and your energy.

A supportive women-only group, held by experienced guides who understand first-time and returning trekkers.

You don’t have to be “super fit” to begin. You do need time, guidance, and a group that feels safe. That’s what we hold for you—right from preparation calls and training suggestions, to quiet tea breaks in the meadow and gentle encouragement on the trail.

If a part of you has been saying “someday I’ll go to the mountains”, this could be your year to start.

DM “DAYARA WOMEN” and we’ll share the dates, detailed itinerary, and a simple preparation plan to help you decide if this is the right beginning for you. as

Walk the forested trails of Prabalmachi, climb past ancient walls, and stand atop the legendary Prabalgad. 🌿✨

So close to Mumbai, yet so often forgotten.
The Sahyadris stretch out under a vast open sky, waiting quietly while city life keeps us tangled in deadlines and noise.

Step onto a trail, and everything shifts — the air feels lighter, the forest slows you down, and you finally hear your own thoughts again.
Sometimes, you don’t need to escape far. You just need to return to what’s been beside you all along. 🌿✨

Trekking isn’t about ticking off a peak.
It’s about the friendships built step by step, the forest trails that slow your mind, and the strength you uncover when the climb feels endless.

Every path has a story, every trail a lesson. What matters most is the journey and the moments that stay with you long after you’re back home.

just returned from Kilimanjaro. The highest peak on the African continent. This was an operational recce for Bohemian Adventures and we are now confident about offering this amazing climb to our clients from the coming year.
Over the next few days as we share glimpses of what the climb looks like we will also be looking at insights of what goes into researching the operations and standards on a new trip. What the standard is what we need to do with our partners to bring the standards up to our SOPs and safety standards.

At Bohemian Adventures, we believe the outdoors should be accessible to everyone. And in September–October 2024, we had the honour of guiding —a fiercely determined and inspiring blind mountaineer—to Everest Base Camp.

During that trek, Angmo shared her dream of summiting the world’s highest peak. Just a few days ago, on 19.05.2025, she made history.

Angmo became the first blind woman in the world, and the first blind Indian, to summit Mount Everest.

This is not just her triumph—it’s a powerful reminder of what inclusive adventure travel can make possible.

We’re beyond proud to have been part of her journey and thrilled to share that Bohemian Adventures will be guiding her next expedition to Mt. Kilimanjaro this July.

The mountains are for everyone. And we’re here to break barriers—one summit at a time.

! Out here, every trail walked, every mountain climbed, every river crossed reminds us of the one truth—we belong to the Earth, not the other way around. Today, we honour the wild, the quiet, the rugged, the resilient. Let’s not just explore the planet—let’s protect it.

Wishing everyone a very happy Holi!
