During one of my visits to the dargah of Sufi saint Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia in New Delhi, I felt a deep connection with the shrine. I have visited the shrine many times, immersed myself in the mystical chants, and found profound peace in the divine music.
When , a renowned writer, scholar, and historian, came up with her latest book – In search of the Divine: Living Histories of Sufism in India, I completed the book in two days.
As a travel designer, I love to curate life-changing experiences from my life experiences, passion, and connection with people and places.
After reading Rana Safvi’s book, I reached out to her and requested if she is willing to travel to Paradise on Earth with me in Search of the Divine, she happily obliged, and here we are, ready to travel to Kashmir this coming summer with a small group of 12 seekers led by Rana Safvi and myself.
The Vale of Kashmir has long been celebrated by poets and painters as a stunningly beautiful terrain – a miniature heaven on earth. What is often overlooked is that in addition to its natural beauty, the valley hosts a culture that has been shaped by one of the subtlest philosophies known to mankind – the teachings of Sufism, the inner heart of Islam. This wisdom honors the appreciation of nature and the artistic impulse as paths to ultimate truth and celebrates music, poetry, and the arts as ways to experience and celebrate the Divine. It thus represents the fusion of spiritual and material, seeing creativity and empathy as means of refining the soul.
We will be staying for 5 days in The Abode of Peace which is situated amidst forests, and mountains of the valley.
This is a rare opportunity to enjoy candid conversations, soulful mystical music, sounds of nature, authentic local cuisine, slow travel, and align all our senses that nourishes the body, mind, and soul.
