हजरात रुकिए, सुनिए आपसे एक बात कहता हूँ.
गुज़रती नहीं जो सो कर, वो रात कहता हूँ.
में पाले फिरता हूँ मन में भरम अपना.
में नहीं चाहता ज़िन्दगी का फैसला सुनना.

इक सहमी सी मुहब्बत लिए फिरती है ज़िन्दगी.
धर के मौत हथेली पर, तका करती है ज़िन्दगी.
उन्हें अब है, अब नहीं है मुहब्बत मुझसे,
इसी उहापोह में बसर हुआ करती है ज़िन्दगी.

हर बार खोजता हूं उसका पैग़ाम.
मैं जब भी खतो-किताबात खोलता हूँ.
या स्कूल की पन्ना-पन्ना हुई उस किताब में,
उसकी रखी सूखी पत्ती टटोलता हूँ.
जैसे लफ़्ज़ों में गुजरा वक्त खंगोलता हूँ.

शायद उचक कर ताके वो मुझे एक दिन.
जो पन्नों में सिमटी, सहमी छुपी पड़ी है.
मुरझाई पंखी, उसका भी खिलने को मन तो करता होगा.
पन्ना खुलने की इंतज़ार में दिल उसका भी धडकता होगा.
उसने कहा था सूखे फूल की तरह किसी किताब में मिलेगी मुझसे.
किताबें तो रही नहीं, कभी उचक के फेस बुक पे आ मिल मुझसे.
