On November 28th, 2025, Aura Voyages Private Limited (India) along with Abled Voyages and Himalayan Voyages has received the Travelife Partner level award.

The award recognizes the long-term efforts of Aura Voyages Private Limited regarding sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility.

Mr. Naut Kusters, manager of Travelife for Tour Operators, “I am delighted to see that sustainability in the tour operator sector is obtaining momentum. The Partner award of Aura Voyages Private Limited will inspire other companies in India to follow the same path’.

Travelife is the leading international sustainability certification for the travel sector. More than 35 national travel associations are promoting the scheme to their members including ABTA (UK), ANVR (NL), PATA (Asia), FTT (South Africa), SMAL (Finland), UHPA (Croatia), JARTA (Japan), APAVT (Portugal), and more.

The Travelife Partner level standard is covering the ISO 26000 Corporate Social Responsibility themes, including environment, biodiversity, human rights and labour relation.

The Travelife Partner award is a recognition of our commitment towards social and environmental sustainability. We comply with more than 100 criteria related to sustainability management, office operations, working with suppliers and customer communication. We are working towards further improvements aiming to eventually reach the Travelife Certified stage.

Travelife is a three-stage certification program for tour operators and travel agents: (1) Travelife Engaged; (2) Travelife Partner and (3) Travelife Certified. We are at stage 2 – Travelife Partner. We are working to move forward to stage 3 - Travelife Certified.

🌸 Mandi Shivaratri – The Mystic Mahakumbh of the Himalayas 🌸

Every year, the town of Mandi in Himachal Pradesh comes alive with one of India’s most fascinating cultural gatherings — Mandi Shivaratri, often referred to as the ‘Mahakumbh of the Devtas’.

For seven days, over 200 local deities (Devtas) are carried from surrounding valleys to assemble at Mandi’s ancient temples. These divine processions are not only a spectacle of colors and traditions, but also a spiritual reunion where the Devtas symbolically meet each other — a gathering believed to strengthen harmony across the Himalayan valleys.

The air fills with chants, temple bells, sacred rituals, and mesmerizing folk performances. Locals throng the festival grounds to seek blessings from their Devtas, adding to the charged, mystical atmosphere. What makes Mandi Shivaratri truly special is its mystic aura — the seamless blend of spirituality, tradition, and Himalayan culture that offers the traveller an authentic window into India’s sacred heart.

For visitors, it is a rare opportunity to experience a living Himalayan tradition, where devotion and folklore continue to shape community life.

Beyond the Beaten Path – Gujarat’s Hidden Cultural Jewels

Continuing my journey beyond Poshina, I found myself in the heart of Gujarat exploring treasures that rarely make it to the typical travel itineraries — yet offer such a rich tapestry of history, art, and architecture.

Siddhpur – A serene riverside town where time seems to pause. Known for its 19th-century havelis built by the Dawoodi Bohra community, the pastel facades and intricate wooden carvings make it a living museum of heritage and design.

Patan – Home to the UNESCO-listed Rani ki Vav, an intricately carved stepwell that is both an architectural marvel and a poetic ode to water. Patan also nurtures the centuries-old tradition of Patola weaving, where each handwoven sari can take months, even years, to create.

Modhera Sun Temple – Standing since the 11th century, this temple is a masterpiece of Solanki architecture, aligned perfectly to greet the rising sun. The exquisite carvings narrate stories of divinity and cosmic rhythm.
