1. According to Hindu scriptures, it is believed to be the spiritual center of the cosmos, symbolizing the axis of the world (often referred to as Axis Mundi).

2. This mountain is regarded as the abode of Lord Shiva, who is one of the principal deities in Hinduism and part of the Trimurti (the Hindu Trinity), alongside Brahma (the creator) and Vishnu (the preserver).

3. Shiva is known as Kailashpati (Lord of Kailash), and the mountain is seen as a physical representation of Mount Meru, the center of the universe in Hindu cosmology.

4. Mount Kailash is located in the remote and majestic Tibetan Plateau in the Himalayas, near the source of some of Asia's longest rivers.

5. The mountain’s towering, symmetrical shape is often seen as a natural representation of Shiva’s lingam, symbolizing his cosmic energy and creation.

6. For centuries, devotees have traveled to Mount Kailash to seek blessings, perform rituals, and connect with the divine. They also believe that circumambulating (parikrama) around Mount Kailash can cleanse one's sins and lead to spiritual liberation (moksha).
