The International Genetically Engineered Machine Contest or iGEM is a synthetic biology competition that is held every year at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA. This competition invites Undergraduate student teams from around the world to build synthetic organisms with some practical applications. IIT Delhi is a student team comprising of synthetic biology enthusiasts from various undergraduate courses at IIT Delhi
We Ideate, Innovate and Inspire one and all in our quest for unearthing the future of synthetic biology, and also bring laurels to the institute and the nation in this prestigious contest. Over the years are stature as a team has continuously grown and today we proudly act as mentors to other budding colleges and schools to delve into the immense possibilities that the field poses. No prior experience in the field is needed. Just an enthusiasm for the work and a never-give-up attitude is what we are primarily looking for.

Have a passion for synthetic biology? Want to engineer "life" itself? Presenting the moment you've all been waiting for, and been curious about.

We are organising orientation and info session on 27th February 2019 (Wednesday) at 5:30 at LH 310.

We use synthetic biology to solve real world problems and present it at the iGEM Giant Jamboree held at the Hynes Convention Centre, Boston, MA.

We invite students to be a part of a unique, student-led, interdisciplinary research experience! Join us at the session, learn how biology blends with technology and computation. More details about the recruitment procedure as well.
