Day 6: Da Nang – Marble Mountains, Coconut Forest & Hoi An Ancient Town
Today started with breakfast at 0700 hrs, followed by a refreshing morning walk along Da Nang's beautiful beach. We also visited and inspected several Indian-friendly hotels and restaurants to evaluate their quality, hospitality and suitability for Indian travellers.
Today's Highlights:
- Marble Mountains – A cluster of limestone hills featuring ancient caves, pagodas and breathtaking panoramic views.
- Coconut Forest – Enjoyed the famous Basket Boat Ride through the peaceful coconut groves, experiencing a unique part of Vietnam's local culture.
- Hoi An Ancient Town (UNESCO World Heritage Site) – One of Vietnam's most charming destinations, renowned for its beautifully preserved heritage streets, colourful lanterns, Japanese Covered Bridge, riverside cafés, boutique shopsand timeless architecture.
The vibrant atmosphere made the city even more lively and colourful.
💡 Travel Recommendation:
For the best experience, begin your sightseeing in the afternoon. The Coconut Forest is much more enjoyable during the cooler late afternoon, while Hoi An truly transforms after sunset. Thousands of glowing lanterns, illuminated boats floating along the Thu Bon River, lively cafés, street performances and its beautifully preserved heritage buildings create an unforgettable evening experience.
🏨 Hotel & Food Inspection:
We inspected a range of 3-star to 5-star hotels, all of which impressed us with their warm hospitality and excellent service standards. The only noticeable challenges were the language barrier and limited Indian meal options within some hotels. Fortunately, several Indian restaurants are located within a short walking distance approximately 300 metres, serving a wide variety of authentic Indian dishes, including favourites like golgappa (pani puri) and other popular street foods.
