Build strong endurance, leg strength, and core stability. Cardiovascular fitness is key โ long hikes, stair climbs with a backpack, running, and strength training should be part of your routine.
Prior experience above 6,000m is highly recommended. Your body needs to adapt to extreme altitude and low oxygen levels.
Knowledge of crampon use, ice axe arrest, rope techniques, and glacier travel is essential. Completing a Basic and Advanced Mountaineering Course helps a lot.
๐น ๐๐๐ง๐ญ๐๐ฅ ๐๐ญ๐ซ๐๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ก โ Expect extreme cold, long summit days (12โ16 hours), and harsh weather. Mental resilience is just as important as physical strength.
High-quality layered clothing, mountaineering boots, and a solid team with experienced guides make a big difference.
Mt. Nun is not for beginners โ but with the right preparation and mindset, itโs one of the most rewarding climbs in the Himalayas.
