Taj Mahal and Agra Fort to remain temporarily closed on 21 February 2026 for the Croatian PM’s visit

The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), Agra Circle, has announced that Taj Mahal and Agra Fort will remain closed to the general public for specific hours on 21 February 2026, in view of the official visit of H.E. Mr. Andrej Plenković, Prime Minister of Croatia. Taj Mahal will be closed from 12:40 PM to 2:40 PM, and Agra Fort from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM, or until the visit concludes. Visitors are advised to plan their itinerary accordingly, as booking offices will also close two hours prior for security arrangements.

“The saddest part of this Budget is that there is no allocation for the Ministry of Tourism’s foreign promotion. MOT was formed primarily to market India internationally, and earlier we had overseas tourism offices actively promoting the country. Over the years, many startup tour operators created thousands of jobs through their own efforts, without financial support. Today, there is zero attention to foreign promotion, leaving operators to survive on their own. Inbound inflow has reduced drastically, while neighbouring countries capture India’s share.”
