*Thailand Is Finally Open To Fully Vaccinated Indian Tourists, Here Are All The Deets...*

Thailand is a favourite international holiday destination for Indian tourists. Way before the Maldives became a hub for Indian travellers during the pandemic, Thailand was their go-to destination. Given the rise in COVID-19 cases, the country shut its borders to international tourists. Finally, almost after two years, it’s ready to welcome tourists from October 1st..

MBK is probably Bangkok's most legendary shopping mall, popular with both tourists and locals, and busy with shoppers every day. There are eight floors packed with 2,000 shops that sell everything from clothing, fashion accessories, handbags, leather products and luggage to furniture, mobile phones, electric appliances, cameras, stationery and DVDs. Launched in 1986, MBK is a beehive of activity, especially on weekends, when half of Bangkok converges to shop for bargains. It's not as up-market or stylish as neighbouring Siam Discovery, Siam Centre and the glitzy Siam Paragon, but it offers a mind-boggling range of goods spread over 89,000 square metres and is considerably less expensive.

MBK is particularly easy to reach thanks to a direct walkway linking to National Stadium BTS Skytrain Station. Literally every taxi driver knows this most famous of shopping malls in Bangkok too, so you can hail a cab from anywhere but traffic can be intense.

This temple is the home of Koh Samui's most famous landmark the Big Buddha. Most Visitors come to marvel at the sheer size and beauty of this remarkable statue at some point during their holiday. Visible from several kilometers away and even from the air when arriving on or leaving the island , the 12 meter tall golden image stands proud.

At the base of the structure, several shops and restaurants cater to the needs of devotees and tourists alike. Wat Phra Yai is in the Northeast of Samui on route 4171 near the airport.

Songkran is one of the popular festivals in Thailand which is celebrated with great enthusiasm. The word Songkran is taken from Sanskrit word Sankranti, signifies the sun's shift from one zodiac to another. This day is also known as Thailand New Year.
On Thailand’s New Year‘s day, Thai clean the temples and houses and do prayers to the Buddha. People sprinkles scented water on elders as a mark of respect. The pouring of water is symbolic of the cleansing of the spirit, mind and body. The water is also supposed to wash away bad luck.

Bhagshunag Waterfall, Macloadganj Himanchal Pardesh

A sharp climb from McLeodganj past small cafes and shops and then through cedar woods leads to this old temple that locals claim has been in existence since the time of the Mahabharata, and the exile of the Pandava brothers. The temple, even if its exact age is open to speculation, is certainly a fairly old one and is dedicated to Shiva and to the local version of the serpent deity, Bhagsu Nag. Another version of local lore has it that a king named Bhagsu had a fight with a powerful serpent and was defeated. After a conciliation, the king had the temple built. Bhagsu village, till its recent transformation as a tiny village packed with different nationalities - especially young Israelis - was a tiny hillside hamlet that was home only to the migrant Gaddi people. The sheep and goat rearing transhumant Gaddis are considered to be the original inhabitants of the Dhauladhar range and small villages like this, was where they put down roots for brief moments. The temple, in its present form itself owes much to the Gurkhas who had captured Kangra in the early nineteenth century and this was rebuilt by them; the Gurkhas, after their integration in the Indian army had a large presence in the area and continued to revere this temple. The stone tiger-mouth water-spouts are typical of Nepalese carvings. A mile or so from Bhagsu village, are the Bhasu falls. The waterfall is about twenty metres high. A small pool, the little stream and along the way, quarries that produce fine slate and numerous small eating places make this an enjoyable day hike. The area around the falls is full of grassy slopes and clumps of woodland. As in other parts of the Kangra region – especially the heights – the area is frequented by the transhumant Gaddi people and their flocks of sheep and goats.
