Chennai Update

Dear Friends,

I am sure all of you are aware of the fury of nature in Chennai . The met department predicts that this rain would continue for another two more days . FYI Chennai city and its suburbs are most effected due to water logging and the city has come to a stand still .

All land transfers and all trains have been cancelled . The airport is also shut for the next two days as there is lot of water on the runway too. There is no power in most part of Chennai and hence most mobile phones are not reachable and also computers and lap tops drained out of power . No flights took off or landed from Chennai airport since last night . Places like Mahabalipuram , Kanchipuram there is no water logging but there is heavy rain .

In principle any tourist travelling to Chennai in next few days should cancel Chennai portion . There are guest who have reached Pondicherry or Mahabalipuram , who need to take flight from Chennai in next two days should stay back at hotel till further notice.
