The State Bird of Assam, White Winged Wood Duck, locally known as Deohaanh has been directly sighted for the first time in Dihing Patkai National Park of Jeypore RF today after a very long time. It was believed that it became extinct in this National park. However today, a team of our frontline staff sighed the bird during their regular patrolling duty indicating a significant milestone to the Park as well as the entire Assam Forest Department.
