Nirmal “Nims Dai” Purja was more than a world-class mountaineer, he was a symbol of courage, determination, and the belief that no dream is impossible. A former Gurkha and UK Special Forces soldier, he inspired millions by climbing all 14 of the world’s 8,000-meter peaks in a record six months and six days, proving that human limits can be redefined.
His tragic death in the Broad Peak avalanche is a heartbreaking loss for the global climbing community. Nirmal Purja leaves behind a legacy of resilience, leadership, and selfless service to fellow climbers.
Though he is no longer with us, his achievements and fearless spirit will continue to inspire generations. We mourn the loss of a true legend whose footsteps will forever remain etched on the world’s highest mountains.
