🚨 Important Warning for All Tourists Visiting Sikkim 🚨
Before booking your Sikkim trip, please read this carefully.

Please do NOT book your tour packages with travel agencies that are not based in Sikkim. Many outside operators promote very cheap packages online just to attract tourists. After taking advance payments, they often fail to arrange proper hotels, vehicles, or permits.

During the peak tourist season in Sikkim, it becomes extremely difficult to find hotels, cabs, and permits at the last moment. Many outside agents have no real local connections or management in Sikkim, and when problems happen, tourists are left stranded without proper support.

Unfortunately, when such issues occur, the blame often goes to Sikkim and its tourism industry, even though the fraud or mismanagement was done by outsiders who don’t truly know the region.

That is why I sincerely request all tourists: always book your trip with genuine Sikkim-based travel agencies who know the local system and can properly manage your tour.

Lachen Permits to Be Issued from March 8; Mangan DC Issues Traffic Advisory for Taram Chu Bridge
Mangan District Collector Anant Jain, IAS, has informed that permits for visiting Lachen will be issued from March 8, allowing tourist movement towards the North Sikkim destination as per the established government protocol.

According to the District Administration, tourists and travel agencies may obtain the required permits through the prescribed process, including approaching the District Collectorate, Mangan, or through the usual permit procedures followed for North Sikkim travel.

The announcement comes along with a public advisory issued by the Mangan District Administration regarding traffic regulation on the newly completed Bailey Suspension Bridge over Taram Chu at Km 15.650 on the Chungthang–Lachen road. The advisory outlines safety regulations for vehicles crossing the bridge to ensure smooth traffic movement and protection of the newly constructed structure.

The administration has urged all concerned stakeholders and travellers to adhere to the prescribed guidelines while planning their visit to Lachen from March 8 onward.
