Yumthang, situated at a height of 11800 feet is popularly known as 'Valley of Flowers', Located at a distance of 148 kms from Gangtok, it is a paradise for nature lovers with a fascinating blend of flora and fauna and breathtaking scenic beauty. In spring season, wild flowers such as primulas and Rhododendrons bathe the landscape in rich colours, making it a tourist hot spot. The Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary over here has 24 species of Rhododendron flowers which bloom from April to May end.
Hot spring located on the right side of Yumthang river is a popular tourist attraction. In addition to a vast green meadow, lush green forest abounding in Pine and silver fir trees throngs the place. While driving towards the valley, one can see cascading waterfalls and streams.

The Buddha Park is also known as Tathagata Tsal, is situated near Ravangla in South Sikkim district of the Indian state of Sikkim. It was constructed between 2006 and 2013, and features a 130-foot-high (40 m) statue of the Buddha, erected to mark the 2550th anniversary of the birth of Gautama Buddha, as its main attraction. The statue, built of 60 tonnes . The site was chosen within the larger religious complex of Rabong Monastery, itself a centuries-old place of pilgrimage.

The capital, Gangtok, is one of the best places to observe how the old and the new, the traditional and the modern merge seamlessly to make Sikkim what it is today. Do not be surprised to find a red robed lama and a stylishly dressed young person sharing the same table at a roadside café. On one hand, you will find people congregating at the monasteries during festivals and enjoying the masked dances. On the other hand, you will find them flocking to movie halls and nightclubs for modern entertainment. While people, mostly in urban areas, have adopted typical Indian wear or Western wear, traditional wear is worn during religious and social festivals.

History
Sikkim was an independent state till very recently. It was annexed into India only in 1975. Till now people from the state enjoy a host of special privileges due to this reason. The original capital of the state was at Rabdantse near Pelling. The ruins of the erstwhile capital are well preserved and can be visited by tourists during their tour to Pelling.
