Certain parts of Meghalaya quietly teach you how deeply people here live in sync with the world around them.

Take Rasong, for instance, a village nestled deep within the valleys, where motor roads still do not reach.

Here, movement happens differently. Through stone paths, steep descents, and an ingenious pulley system built by locals to transport goods across the terrain. Not because it is novel, but because this is how life has adapted to the landscape for generations.

And perhaps that is what makes places like this so special. You do not just witness nature here, you witness the relationship people have built with it.

This is the side of monsoon Meghalaya we love to show our guests the most.
Not just waterfalls and views, but everyday life shaped by rain, terrain, food, and community.

📩 We curate bespoke Meghalaya monsoon journeys rooted in people and place. DM us to plan yours.

Meghalaya in the monsoon is not just something you see.

It is something you move through.

The rain changes everything here, forests deepen, waterfalls return with force, rivers become playful, and village life begins to follow the rhythm of mist, mud, warmth, food, and pause.

Our new monsoon itinerary, Trails of the Living Hills, is for travellers who want to experience Meghalaya in its defining season, in a way few people do.

Think hidden waterfalls reached through forest trails, living root bridges at their greenest, Khasi meals in local homes, rain-drenched villages, canyoning, kayaking, and conversations that offer a closer look at everyday life in one of the wettest places on earth.

It’s a little more immersive. A little more untamed.

And made for those who want to meet Meghalaya in its most alive season.

A few new chapters are opening up the coming few months and honestly, we’re very excited about what this season holds.

Our Western Arunachal Pradesh journeys will soon pause for the monsoon, which makes our June trip, the last group departure there for the season. A final chance to experience the region in that beautiful window between spring and rain.

Meanwhile, Meghalaya is slowly slipping into its rain-soaked rhythm, and with that comes an entirely new chapter: Trails of the Living Hills.

A monsoon journey built for travellers who want to experience Meghalaya beyond the postcard version. Hidden trails, drenched forests, some adventures, local meals, slow conversations, and a closer look at how life here moves with the rain.

Our Hornbill Festival chapters are now live too, for those wanting to experience Nagaland through its communities, performances, food, stories, and festive spirit.

And for those looking for something deeply immersive, our Three-State Chapter journeys through the worlds of the Apatanis, Misings, and Konyak, shaped around local communities, oral histories, everyday life, and cultural memory.

Also, for everyone who’s been asking about Pomo Valley, yes, the next trek is happening in September. 🌿

Different landscapes. Different rhythms. Different ways to travel.

Find the chapter that feels like yours.

Summer in Arunachal Pradesh arrives softly. The valleys turn lush and pleasant, wildflowers begin to bloom across the meadows, and the mountains carry a quiet kind of beauty that feels untouched by time. While the high passes still remain chilly and wrapped in mist, the rest of the landscape comes alive in a way that makes every journey feel unforgettable.

These are the last few weeks we travel through Arunachal before the monsoon sets in and the season comes to a close. Our trips run only till June, making this your final chance this year to witness the region in its summer bloom before the rains take over the mountains once again.

If you’ve been waiting for a sign to make the trip, this is it. Join us for one last journey into Arunachal Pradesh before we see the mountains again this winter.

To many, rain feels like something that interrupts a journey. In Meghalaya, however, rain has never been an interruption. It is woven into the rhythm of life itself.

For generations, people here have lived in quiet harmony with the clouds. The monsoon shapes homes, routines, stories, and even the way people move through the hills. The rains nourish ancient forests, awaken hidden waterfalls, breathe life into rivers, and cloak the landscape in shades of green that seem almost unreal.

To travel through Meghalaya during the monsoon is to witness this relationship firsthand. It is to walk through mist-covered trails, hear rivers thunder through deep canyons, and understand why this season is not merely endured here, but deeply embraced.

This monsoon, allow the rains to show you a side of travel few ever truly experience.

This is what our recent journey through Meghalaya looked like…unfiltered and full of life.

Led by this group moved through moments of joy, bursts of laughter, and effortless connection. Days unfolded over shared meals and a touch of adventure, while every turn of the road added another memory to carry home. It wasn’t just a trip, it became a collection of experiences that linger long after the journey ends.

And to the rest of the group, we look forward to hosting you again, very soon.

Experiences like these aren’t far away, they’re closer than you think. If you’ve been meaning to step away and into something thoughtfully curated, consider this your invitation.

We have group trips lined up for monsoons in Meghalaya. DM us to join.
