One of the newest addtitions to the UNESCO World Heritage Site list, Patan has sprung to popularity in traveler circuits because of its Rani ka Vav. Surrounded by huge walls and a very old world charm, this former capital of medieval Gujarat will make for a lovely offbeat place in India to visit. The weather of Patan is at its most favorable during the months of October to March.

Best Time : October to March

How to reach:

By Air. The nearest airport from Patan is Ahmedabad, situated at a distance of 125 km from the city.

By Train. Patan lies on the Western Railway network of the Indian railways.

By Road. Patan is linked to the rest of the country through a good road network.

Place name : Khajjiar – The Mini Switzerland of India.

Location : Himachal Pradesh

Khajjiar , a hill station in Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh. The hill station is picturesquely set in the midst of magnificent ‘Deodar’ forests. The clump of reeds and the green meadow add an exquisite charm to this place. A small plateau in its green turf of dense pine and Deodar forests along its fringes adds to the pastoral scenery.

This offbeat place in India has the rarest combination of three eco systems. The lakes, the pastures and the forests come together to make a visit to this place a unique experience. Hence, it is also popularly called theMini Switzerland of Himachal Pradesh.

How to reach: Cheap flight ticket to nearby Dharamsala from New Delhi at just INR 3,212. From there, a car can be hired to reach khajjiar.

Place name : Champaner, Gujarat

This is one of those UNESCO World Heritage Sites that will blow your mind away with its historical appeal. It is said that the Pavagadh hills are nothing but a chunk of the Himalayas carried over by Hanuman during Ramayana. A town with historical ruins set in the lap of the Pavagadh hills, this is a surefire offbeat place to visit. October to February are the best months to visit Champaner Pavagadh. The Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park is open all year and is a delight to visit for its Hindu and Islamic styles of design.

How to reach by road :
Champaner is well-cnnected to all major parts of Gujarat via Vadodara. The roads to Champaner are in good shape and several buses and rented vehicles ply between major parts of the state and Champaner. Champaner is just around 49 km from Vadodara. How to Reach Champaner by Train :
Champaner has its own railway station which falls on the Godhara to Vadodara line. However, it is best to take a train to Vadodara railway station which is well connected to major cities and then take the road route to Champaner.

Vadodara is the nearest airport to Champaner. It is located at a distance of 42 km from Champaner. The nearest international airport to Champaner is Ahmedabad airport at a distance of 125 km. Taxis are available from both airports to reach Champaner.
