The Youth Hostels Association of India (YHAI) is a charitable organisation, providing youth hostel accommodation in India. It is a member of the Hosteling International federation. YHAI provides stay for travelers around the world in their hostel around the most of the tourist locations for cheap prices for its members. they organises trecking and trips all around the year. These programmes are being organized in some of the most extreme terrains of the country, be it the mountains, deserts, caves, beaches or just the woods!

The movement is based on two basic urges in the youth - love for the unknown, which includes desire for adventure and the desire to make friends.

The development of the means of communication and the establishment of youth hostels in more beautiful and attractive spots in many countries has made the opportunity of travel at a nominal cost far more easily available for youth.

We believe in the saying- Wandering, one gathers Honey- it drives our thought process and actions, as we tend to spread the sense of learning and gathering knowledge by gaining real experiences with the world, its people, and the nature

It is a requirement to be either a member of YHAI to stay in their hostels. Membership can be purchased on arrival at a hostel but a non member wishing to stay must pay a supplement equivalent to a day membership. APPLY FOR MEMBERSHIP

Dudhsagar is one of the India’s tallest waterfalls having the height of 310 m (1017 feet) and an average width of 30 meters (100 feet). The fall of water from that height creates the illusion of a literally sea of milk falling from the top. Dudhsagar is a four-tiered waterfall located on the Mandovi River in the border of the Indian state of Goa and Karnataka. It is 60 km from Panaji by road and is located on the Madgaon-Belgaum rail route about 46 km east of Madgaon and 80 km south of Belgaum.

The perfect season to take the breathtaking view of the falls and soak in it's beauty is the Monsoon when the falls become alive.

Dudhsagar Railway Station is 455 km from gulbarga by road. One can also board train from hubbali to vasco(madgoan) and get down at castle rock or kulem.

Trek to Dudhsagar from Kulem, which lies in Goa. However, the trek from castle rock is more promising in terms of beauty and an overall experience.

How to do Dudhsagar Waterfalls Trek

Get off the train at the Castle Rock station. Castle Rock is the last station that lies within the border of Karnataka. There are a series of rail tunnels, the longest one being Tunnel 2, which stretches a distance of 2.4 km.

The trek from Castle Rock to Dudhsagar is 11 km long. Follow the railway track all the way to the waterfall. It passes through dense forests and smaller waterfalls within Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary. It takes around 6-7 hours to complete the trek. One can camp at the Dudhsagar Station, as camping is allowed here. It is advisable to carry your tents and sleeping bags along.

Alternative route:
Trek 26 km from Kulem to Castle Rock (Karnataka). Stop at the waterfall, which falls in between the beginning and the end of the trek. Since it’s a long day of trekking, a break at the waterfall is well-deserved.
