Some hotels are built. Others inherit a story.

RAAS Devigarh stands on a hill overlooking Delwara in the Aravalli Range. Its construction was completed in 1760 under Rajrana Sajja Singh II, although the story of the site goes back to 1576, when the principality of Delwara was gifted to Rajrana Sajja Singh and his brother Ajja Singh following the Battle of Haldighati.

Centuries later, the palace was restored by a team of around 750 people over almost 15 years.

In 1999, Devigarh reopened as a luxury hotel - bringing together its historic architecture with contemporary comforts.

Today, its 39 suites sit within the 18th-century palace, surrounded by the Aravallis and the village of Delwara.

A reminder that preserving India’s history doesn't always mean leaving it untouched.

Sometimes, it means giving it another life.

From rainforest canopies in Kerala to forests in the Western Ghats and the hills of Himachal, these are the treehouse stays that make a pretty convincing case for sleeping above the ground.

Because sometimes the best room in the hotel is the one with a few branches around it.

Save this for the next time you want your weekend to come with a little altitude.

Ladakh has never been short of places to stay. The hard part is knowing which ones are worth the detour.

From a royal palace in Stok to a lodge in the middle of snow leopard country, a heritage home in Nimmu to quiet stays in Nubra and Turtuk - these are the addresses that make the journey feel even more worth it.

Save this one for the Ladakh trip that’s still sitting somewhere in your camera roll.

Delhi, but make it a weekend.

Somewhere between the city and the “let’s just keep driving” phase are a few hotels worth checking into - heritage forts, sprawling resorts, quiet retreats and the occasional excuse to turn your work phone off.

Here’s where we’d drive for a change of scene, without spending the entire weekend getting there.

Save this for when Delhi starts feeling a little too Delhi.
