St Mary’s Basilica has been consecrated in the year 1882, September 8th and is located in the Archdiocese of Bangalore, - an Indian state. It is a high-ceilinged gothic Church, built in the form of a cross and designed by a French Architect. The existence of this church has been associated with the formation of Bangalore city in the 17th century. The Church holds a substantial history regarding St. Mary, who have been believed to have saved many lives when a plague outbreak happened in 1832. The tallest tower of Baba Atal Rai in Amritsar was built by Guru Gobind Singh in the memory of his son, Baba Atal Rai as he died in strange circumstances at the age of 9 on 23rd July (1619-1628). It is a nine storied, 108 feet tall (33 meters) tower standing on the south-east of Temple. Guru Gobind Singh is the 6th Sikh teacher who built this building as a Samadhi but later on it was turned into a Gurudwara. A true story of Baba Atal Rai is associated with his death. He had a wise head on young shoulders with extraordinary spiritual power, thus called “baba” or the wise old man. Famous works of Guru Nanak also adorns the tower walls.
