Ahmed shah Mosque has been built by the Founder of Ahmedabad, Ahmed Shah I in the year 1414. The Royal household is said to have prayed privately in this Mosque. A special fact surrounding this Mosque is that Hindu Artisans tried to build Islamic architectural building first time and is known by the visible Hindu figures and emblems outside the wall of the Mosque. It is simply designed without any ornament (in the outer part) and its north porch leads to the latticed Princesses’ Gallery with a white marble pavement. Travelers can find a courtyard which has a mound called Ganj Shahid or the martyr’s mound that represents a tomb of martyrs who died in the early fights for the Sultan.
