The road to Spiti Valley did not welcome us gently. It twisted through barren mountains, crossed rivers that looked frozen in time, and climbed higher until even silence felt louder. But somewhere after Nako, when the world turned quieter and the air thinner, I looked up.

The sky was impossibly blue.

Not the ordinary blue we carry in our cities behind wires, smoke, and hurried lives. This was a deep, endless blue pure and untouched stretching so wide that it felt like the earth had disappeared beneath it. The clouds floated like soft white boats, slow and weightless.

And then came that feeling.

The feeling that if I simply opened my arms wide enough, the valley would lift me. That I could fly not with wings, but with freedom. Every worry I had brought from home suddenly seemed too small for a sky this vast.

In Spiti Valley, the sky does not sit above you.
It surrounds you.
It enters you.
And for a little while, it teaches you how to feel infinite!!!

Meghalaya, known as the “Abode of Clouds,” is a beautiful state in northeastern India famous for its rolling hills, heavy rainfall, and breathtaking natural beauty. Shillong, the capital city, often called the “Scotland of the East,” is known for its pleasant climate, waterfalls, and colonial charm. Cherrapunji, also known as Sohra, is one of the wettest places on Earth and is famous for its stunning waterfalls like Nohkalikai Falls and the unique living root bridges made by intertwining the roots of rubber trees. Near the India-Bangladesh border lies Dawki, home to the crystal-clear Umngot River, where boats appear to float on air due to the river’s transparency. The living root bridges of Meghalaya, especially around Cherrapunji and Nongriat, reflect the deep connection between nature and the local Khasi people’s traditional wisdom.

This open-air museum offers a glimpse into 18th and 19th-century life in the Netherlands, with working windmills used for sawing wood, grinding spices, and producing oil.
