The city itself reflects Sikkim's diversity, with Lepcha, Bhutia and Nepali influences appearing in its food, markets and daily life.

Most journeys to Agra begin with the Taj Mahal. The more interesting ones do not end there.

Agra was one of the great centres of the Mughal Empire, and its monuments reveal different chapters of that history. The Little Rann of Kutch is one of Gujarat's most unusual landscapes.

Its salt flats and dry grasslands are best known as the principal habitat of the Indian wild ass, but the ecosystem supports considerably more. During the cooler months, seasonal wetlands attract flamingos, cranes, pelicans and other migratory birds, while desert adapted mammals occupy the drier areas.

The Rann is also a working landscape. Agariya salt workers spend months extracting salt from its mineral rich groundwater, continuing a livelihood closely shaped by the region's demanding conditions.

Naini Lake gives Nainital its unmistakable setting, but the surrounding hills provide much of its character.

Developed as a hill station during the nineteenth century, the town still carries traces of that history in its churches, schools and older architecture. Forest walks, viewpoints and the local markets add another layer, connecting visitors with the landscape and culture of Kumaon.
