Traveling through Northeast India taught me something important — culture isn’t meant to be consumed. It’s meant to be respected.

Here are a few Do’s & Don’ts that helped me travel more consciously:

✅ Ask before taking photos – especially in villages and during rituals
✅ Try local food – even if it’s unfamiliar, it’s part of the story
✅ Learn basic phrases – a “khublei” or “nomoskar” goes a long way
✅ Support local – stay, eat, and shop where your presence helps

🚫 Don’t treat traditional attire like a prop – it’s identity, not aesthetics
🚫 Don’t expect curated experiences everywhere – the rawness is the gift
🚫 Don’t compare cultures – this place stands on its own
🚫 Don’t enter sacred spaces casually – observe, ask, and follow local customs

Travel slowly. Listen more. Respect everything.
