We appreciate the Assam Government's efforts to reconsider travel advisories for foreign tourists.

A TOAA delegate engaged with the Advisory Committee from the Australian High Commission.
The committee was provided with insights into Assam's tourism landscape. We look forward to positive developments in Assam’s tourism sector in the coming days.

A delegation from TOAA, led by President Shri Mukul Medhi, felicitated Shri Ranjeet Kr Dass, Hon’ble Minister of Tourism and PNRD, at his office chamber in Dispur Secretariat, Guwahati. During the meeting, the delegation discussed various tourism-related matters and requested the establishment of a Tourism Advisory Committee by including representatives from TOAA and other stakeholders. The minister also sought active participation of our members in the upcoming Advantage Assam 2.0 sessions by registering in the link in the website as Tourism , Food & Beverages will be one of the key sectors in invigorating the local economy, creating meaningful employment opportunities for the state’s youth, and positioning Assam prominently on the global map as a preferred investment destination.

TOAA is pleased to release the 4th issue of TEA BREAK – the ITM special edition!!

We grieve the demise of Mr. Zoliana Chhakchhuak from Omega Travels Mizoram, who has been a stalwart of the tourism industry of North East India.

As we unite to fondly remember and pay tribute to an exceptional person, we are still in a state of disbelief as we prepare our hearts to accept this great loss, which is both personal and a setback for the tourism industry as well.

Mr. Zoliana's cheerful personality, leadership, steadfast commitment and profound knowledge has fostered a significant advancement in the tourism kaleidoscope in Mizoram and the entire North East region. He was passionate about the region, a master storyteller and always envisioned to create opportunities for the local businesses and communities as he pioneered to showcase Mizoram’s exuberant heritage and culture through tourism. He has undoubtedly nurtured a perpetual legacy to inspire us and generations to come.

We convey our heartfelt condolences.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.
