Like every years, this year also the Nilachal Hills in Guwahati is set to witness five days of faith, devotion, and spirituality during the sacred Ambubachi Mela, 2026. The authorities expecting more than 8 lakh devotees to visit the revered Kamakhya Temple between June 22 and June 26.
The festival, one of India's largest spiritual gatherings, marks the symbolic menstruation cycle of Goddess Kamakhya and attracts pilgrims, saints, and spiritual seekers from across the country and abroad.
To manage the massive influx of visitors, authorities have strengthened infrastructure and security arrangements, including improved roads, enhanced crowd-management systems, CCTV surveillance, medical facilities, and temporary camps.
This time no VIP arrangements will be made during the festival to ensure equal access for all devotees and private vehicles will not be allowed on Nilachal Hill during the event.
