Char Dham Yatra group from Chennai, in our own Force Travellers 🙏

Ten women pilgrims from Chennai started their Char Dham Yatra from Haridwar in [October 2026], travelling Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath by road in two of our own Force Traveller vehicles, UK14 PA 0499 and UK14 PA 0598, with our own drivers.

Thank you to the whole group for travelling with us. It's a joy to see families and friends from Tamil Nadu make the yatra together.

Kedarnath Temple in October 2026, filmed by Vijay ji, a pilgrim who travelled on his Char Dham Yatra with Shiv Ganga Travels, Haridwar. Shared with his permission.

Kedarnath is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and one of the four dhams of the Char Dham Yatra (Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, Badrinath). The temple stands at about 3,583 m in Rudraprayag district, Uttarakhand, and is reached on foot, by pony, palki or helicopter from the Gaurikund side. It closes for winter around Bhai Dooj; Baba Kedar is then worshipped at Omkareshwar Temple, Ukhimath.

Did you know Shiva and Parvati's wedding venue still exists? 🔱

Triyuginarayan Temple in Rudraprayag district, Uttarakhand, is believed to be the place of their divine marriage. The sacred fire lit for the wedding, the Akhand Dhuni, is said to still burn today, and devotees take its ash as blessing.

Just a short detour from Sonprayag on the Kedarnath route, yet many pilgrims miss it.

Going to Kedarnath before the doors close? Watch this first.

Haridwar is still around 30°C in the afternoon; Kedarnath nights are below freezing now. The trek is 16 km and about 1,600 m up from Gaurikund. Four ways up: walk (free), pony ₹3,200 on the district card, palki from ₹9,200 by weight, helicopter from ₹6,390 return from Sersi (last IRCTC window 16 Oct – 9 Nov). Doors expected to close 11 Nov.

Pilgrims from Nepal start their Kedarnath–Badrinath Do Dham Yatra from Haridwar 🙏

On 16 October 2026 we said goodbye to four pilgrims from Nepal outside our office in Bhupatwala, Haridwar. They stood with Dhanesh Ji, holding the Do Dham Yatra banner, and then set off for Kedarnath and Badrinath.

Many pilgrims from Nepal first come to Haridwar and then go up to the dhams. On a Do Dham Yatra with us you get:

Mana village, 3 km from Badrinath temple, was declared India's First Village in 2022. For decades it was called India's last village: the last inhabited settlement on this road before the Mana Pass and the Tibet border.

It sits at about 3,200 m in Chamoli district, Uttarakhand. A two-to-three-hour walk covers Vyas Gufa and Ganesh Gufa, where by tradition the Mahabharata was dictated and written down; Bhim Pul, a single boulder over the Saraswati river; and the village weavers who sell wool shawls from their own doorways. Mana opens and closes with the Badrinath temple, and in winter the families move down the valley.
